We’re delighted to announce Border CrosSing as winner of the 2017 Knight Arts Challenge!

Artistic Director Ahmed Anzaldua & Development Director Jack Vishneski were on hand at the James J Hill Library on Wednesday, October 4 to accept the award and meet the other winners.

It’s august company, and we can’t wait to honor it with our upcoming performances on October 27, Song for the Living and Dead and December 15, El Mesías.

With the Knight Foundation‘s $5000 grant, we can afford a fully professional orchestra for El Mesias, where we will perform Handel’s Messiah interspersed with music by his Latin American contemporaries: Ignacio de Jerusalem and Manuel de Sumaya. It will be a true integration of historically-segregated composers, all of whom deserve performances by the best artists, and an audience of every color, tongue and creed.

However, we MUST match that $5000 in donations to realize the award in full. Willing to pitch in?

Either way, see you at the concerts!
