Every holiday season since founding we’ve presented some version of our acclaimed program “El Mesías”, featuring our bilingual version of Handel’s Messiah. Due to the difficulties of staging such a large production in the midst of a pandemic, this year we’ve decided to replace “El Mesías” with an exciting new program: “Navidad Criolla”. This is a program of Baroque music from Peru, Mexico, and Bolivia to celebrate the Christmas season, highlighting wonderful music from these regions composed between 1500 and 1750 as well as centuries-old traditions that have accompanied the holiday celebrations in Puebla, Cuzco, and Lima.
