Choral Music Brings People Together
The very definition of choral music is many voices – voices that differ in range, age, history, and identity – coming together to create one powerful, expressive, cooperative voice. Our vision is to dig deeper into choral music as an opportunity to bring differing voices together by making our programming accessible to and representative of communities that have traditionally been underserved.
Our guiding principles are equity and inclusion, and it starts with THE MUSIC and informs every decision we make, from our artistic personnel to venues, from ticket prices to multilingual programs.
How Your Gift Helps
Your tax-deductible donation makes it possible for us to never turn anyone away for lack of funds.
Our events are offered on a “pay as able” model, and we never turn anyone away for lack of funds. The venues are reachable through public transportation and conform to ADA guidelines.
We are committed to making our concerts affordable while also ensuring that the artistic quality – the voices, the instruments, the artistic planning – are the same high level that Minnesota audiences have come to expect.
Outreach
Border CrosSing tell stories through music about where we come from, about our joys and our losses. Our educational programming not only helps children and adults build empathy by introducing them to stories of people that are different from their own; for many it is one of the first times they see themselves – their history, their identity – represented in choral music, and tells them, “Your story matters.” Your support helps us reach more audiences each year through our educational outreach.
